Mardi Gras: University of Arizona Style

Mardi Gras is one of the most famous traditions to come out of New Orleans. Parades… Good food..

And of course, the beads

Having been a major holiday that originated in France, Mardi Gras was brought to America in 1699 by explorers who founded the area of what is now New Orleans. Throughout the centuries, Mardi Gras has transformed from a holiday into a major festival with parades, floats, and the famous beads.

While we may not throw extravagant Mardi Gras parties here in Tucson, basketball games in McKale Center and Football games in Arizona Stadium could certainly rival the atmosphere of Mardi Gras just the same!
This week, we take a look at some of the fun bead styles we always seem to find at the games. Whether you get them for free or from a Wildcats shop , these are sure not to disappoint!

This Wildcat fan is certainly in the Mardi Gras spirit with her different styles and sizes of beaded necklaces.

Looking comfortable for the game, she is proudly supporting her team with more than just her shirt. The beads allow a fun accessory and are easy to throw on as a last minute addition to any outfit.

These Wildcat Alumni are excited to watch the Arizona Wildcats play a good game, but not before they bedazzle with beads!

The Mardi Gras beads are great for any Arizona game! Whether you wear it to football or basketball games, this accessory is versatile and perfect for any type of game, in any venue.
Alumni love them just as much as students!

Beads are also perfect to wear as an accessory because it is SO easy to pair jewelry with it! One of my favorites is the Starlight Earrings which perfectly compliment the ‘bead theme’!

Without overpowering my beaded necklaces, the earrings allow me to continue my theme throughout my outfit

Whenever you are out at a game, be on the lookout for these fun necklaces that will show a love for your team! There are tons of styles and you can mix and match to create a unique style that is all your own
